Workshop Details by APNIC: (Conference Suite)

Prerequisites: It is assumed that participants have a basic understanding of network operations, Internet technologies, OSI reference model, TCP/IP & Server OS i.e. Unix, Linux, etc.

Participant Requirements: Bring own laptop with WiFi, pre-installed virtualization tool (VirtualBox or VMWare), and telnet/SSH client.

WORKSHOP DAY 1: RPKI and ROV Deployment (February 27, 2020)

Route hijacking, misconfigurations, and route leaks are attacks to Internet routing that can cause major disruptions. What can we do to address and mitigate them and help secure the Internet? In this hands-on tutorial, we will discuss the problem with Internet routing and the available tools and techniques. The course covers RPKI framework, ROA creation, deploying RPKI validators and configuring routers for ROV.

WORKSHOP DAY 2: IPv6 Deployment (February 28, 2020)

IP addresses are a core part of how the Internet operates. With IPv4 almost reaching exhaustion, IPv6 networks have become quite common. This is a hands-on tutorial focusing on deployment of IPv6 on IP core networks, Including network infrastructure design principles, dual stack deployment, transition mechanisms, and security considerations.
